Tradition (Hildegard's writings) 1

In Hildegard's tradition, tormentil was associated with the mouth and throat and with digestion.

Ingredients

Rootstock of tormentil; white wine.

Preparation 1

Pour white wine over the chopped rootstock, leave it to infuse for one to two hours, then strain.

Tormentil (Potentilla erecta) is rich in tannins; these act locally on the mucous membranes and are not absorbed further by the body.
