Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

In Hildegard's tradition, this compress was associated, for external use, with the legs and veins.

Ingredients

Nettle juice and a prepared hemp cloth.

Preparation

The hemp cloth is made from hemp fabric or from old hemp shirts and ironed until sterile.

Note

The application can be repeated after one week.

Botanical background

Nettle juice contains essential oils, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, B vitamins, chlorophyll, formic acid and histamine. Herbal lore credits it with anti-inflammatory properties.
