Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

In Hildegard's tradition, oregano powder blend was associated with the ears and hearing.

Ingredients

Oregano (wild marjoram), galangal, aloe and peach leaves.

Preparation

Powder blend: 6 g powdered wild marjoram (oregano), 3 g galangal powder, 1 g aloe powder and 6 g peach leaves.

Note

Do not use with diarrhoea, as aloe is laxative.

Botanical background

Because of its essential oils, oregano is credited with antimicrobial, antispasmodic and calming properties. Aloe stimulates digestion and is mildly laxative.
