In Hildegard's tradition, ash leaf compresses were associated with the joints and the back.

Ingredients

Fresh or dried ash leaves (Fraxinus excelsior).

Preparation 1

The leaves are laid on the skin as a compress and held in place with a cloth.

The ash is a native deciduous tree; its leaves contain flavonoids and coumarins.
