Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

In the tradition, the red carnelian was associated with the nose.

Preparation 1

Warm the wine gently, lay the carnelian in it for about ten minutes and then take it out. For children, water was used in place of wine.

For persistent or recurring nosebleeds, medical advice should be sought.

About the stone

Hildegard links the effect of the stone with its warmth and the warmth of the warmed wine.
