Tradition (Hildegard's writings) 1

In Hildegard's tradition, lung powder was associated with the airways.

Ingredients

Galangal powder, nutmeg powder, pellitory powder and fennel seed.

Preparation 1

Mix 5 g galangal powder, 20 g nutmeg powder and 20 g pellitory powder. Crush 5 g of fennel seed in a mortar only just before use and stir it in, so that the essential oil is not lost.

Note

Without the fennel, the powder mixture keeps for about a year.
