Tradition (Hildegard's writings) 1

In Hildegard's tradition, lemon balm was associated with mood, calm and sleep.

Ingredients

Fresh lemon balm herb; water, lemon if desired.

Preparation 1

Boil 1 tbsp of fresh lemon balm herb with half a litre of water. For the eye compress, leave the fresh plant to infuse overnight in cold water.

Botanical background 1

Lemon balm oil is characterised by the citrals A and B, geranial and neral; genuine lemon balm oil is very precious.
