In Hildegard's tradition, pepperwort was associated with the heart, the stomach and the mood.

Ingredients

Fresh herb and root of dittander (Lepidium latifolium).

Botanical background 1

Pepperwort, also called dittander (Lepidium latifolium), belongs to the crucifers. Its sulphur-bearing essential oil gives it its spicy taste; the root tastes much like horseradish.
