Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

In Hildegard's tradition, vine ash lye was used for the care of teeth and gums.

Ingredients

Vine ash and wine.

Preparation

Reduce 3 to 5 handfuls of vine shoots cut in spring to ash, burning no other wood along with them. Pour 1 litre of organic wine over the still-hot ash, break it up in a blender and shake it well.

Note

According to Hildegard, the application strengthens the gums and firms the teeth.
