Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

In Hildegard's stone lore, the sardonyx counted as the stone of the senses and was associated with attentiveness.

Note

The sardonyx counts as a stone suited to children too. Against the skin it can be held in place with a skin-friendly plaster.

About the stone

Hildegard describes the stone as arising in the purity of the sun; when worn, it is laid against the bare skin and now and then held to the mouth.
