Centaury

Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

Traditionally associated in Hildegard's herbal lore with the joints and movement and with elimination.

Ingredients

Centaury, centaury root, deer tallow, spelt flour and water.

Preparation

Knead 50 g each of centaury, centaury root and deer tallow with 250 g of spelt flour and 150 ml of water into a dough. Roll it out, cut out the biscuits and bake them at 180 °C for 5 minutes.

Note 3

Not to be used where the lining of the stomach or intestines is irritated or inflamed. Centaury is a protected species — please do not gather it in the wild.
