Tradition (Hildegard's writings) 1

In Hildegard's tradition, violet oil was associated with the care of stressed skin.

Ingredients

Olive oil; violet leaves and flowers.

Preparation 1

Warm 500 ml of olive oil and let it boil for two to five minutes. Add 20 g of chopped violet leaves and flowers, leave the preparation to cool and pour it through a sieve into a dark bottle.

Note

Keep it away from the eyes.

Botanical background

The violet (Viola odorata) is credited with soothing and skin-caring properties. Its above-ground parts are used — a plant 5 to 10 cm tall with heart-shaped leaves and fragrant violet flowers.
