Cut Liquorice Root – Traditional herbal tea infusion based on monastic medicine
Jura Cut Liquorice Root 50g consists of carefully dried and coarsely cut roots of the true liquorice plant (Glycyrrhiza glabra). As one of the oldest cultivated plants, liquorice has held a firm place in the natural health writings of St. Hildegard von Bingen for centuries.
Compared to the powdered form, cut root pieces are especially ideal for pure herbal teas, custom tea blends, or the traditional practice of root chewing. Liquorice is distinguished by an intensely sweet, delicately earthy flavor profile, serving as a naturally sweet companion for a balanced lifestyle in traditional monastic cuisine.

Preparation & Recommended Use:
- Herbal Infusion: Pour 200 ml of boiling water over 1 teaspoon (approx. 2 g) of cut liquorice root and allow it to steep for 10 to 15 minutes to fully release the sweetness from the dense root tissue. Strain before drinking.
- Traditional Chewing: The root pieces can also be chewed directly. The fibrous wood gradually releases its subtle sweetness and should be discarded after chewing.
Important Notice: Contains liquorice—people suffering from hypertension should avoid excessive consumption.
