Tradition (Hildegard's writings)

In Hildegard's tradition, fennel tablets were valued as a versatile preparation for the stomach and digestion and were also used for bad breath and body odour, for flatulence and to encourage the flow of milk in nursing mothers.

Ingredients

Fennel (without lactose and talc).

Fennel was chosen Medicinal Plant of the Year in 2009.

Botanical background

Fennel contains anethole, fenchone and further terpenes; its essential oils are credited with antimicrobial, antifungal and expectorant properties. As a carminative it is also held to stimulate digestion and appetite.
